Salary Range:

Benefits Location:

Main office in Raleigh, NC; position is hybrid (2 days in office and 3 remote). Remote days may be working from home or doing field work. Must be local or intend on moving to the area to be considered; requires frequent travel across the Triangle and other parts of the state.

About the position:

NCAAT is seeking a Voter Engagement Coordinator to broaden our work with Asian voters throughout North Carolina and to help the team recruit, lead, and coordinate volunteers, canvassers, and phone bankers for our voter engagement work. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about engaging with Asian voters and building relationships in the community. The candidate should have a deep commitment to racial justice, equity, and relationship building. The Voter Engagement Coordinator will work closely with NCAAT staff, and the voter engagement program, and report to the Head of Voter Engagement.

Responsibilities:

Engage with members of local communities to encourage voter registration, voter engagement and provide information related to NCAAT and NCAAT In Action’s programming efforts Assist with tactics including but not limited to door knocking, phone and text banks, site canvass (“tabling”), and relational organizing Own the NCAAT phone banking program Serve as the primary point person of NCAAT’s phone banking with support from the voter engagement team Recruit and guide paid callers and NCAAT staff to facilitate phone banking efforts. Assist with script writing and implementation Own & execute NCAAT Quality Control Process Serve as the point person of NCAAT’s Quality Control Process with the support of the Voter Engagement Director Make weekly calls to voters to assess the conversation quality we are having at the doors. Dive deeper into canvassers’ performance statistics ensuring all canvassers are performing at an appropriate level. Help organize, recruit, and train volunteers and canvassers for voter registration & voter outreach efforts Lead trainings for volunteers and canvassers focused on voter outreach, ensuring that volunteers and canvassers are up to date on voter rights and the local election process Assist the Voter Engagement manager to recruit and interview canvassers for our canvassing program Review canvasser timesheets for accuracy Keep track of hiring data and onboarding schedules Help manage turfs for canvassers Support the membership manager to organize, recruit and train volunteers for voter engagement canvassing efforts Travel across North Carolina to help launch canvassing shifts Travel throughout North Carolina to serve NCAAT’s 10 key counties Assist the voter engagement team with canvasser management and provide support on canvass days Serve as a shift lead when needed Support program team in organizational-wide mobilizations Help the Voter Engagement team with the implementation of our all-hands programming such as National Voter Registration Day Week of Action(NVRD Week), Election Protection, and other mobilizations as they occur Serve as a helper during NCAAT all-staff events To be considered candidates must have: A commitment to social justice and equity A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation An ability and willingness to drive in North Carolina to outreach sites An ability to engage in direct conversations with unfamiliar members of the community An ability to work collaboratively and independently A willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Previous canvassing experience with either an advocacy group or campaign Familiarity with VoteBuilder and Minivan software platforms An ability to connect with community members over social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms While not required, the following are preferred: Experience working in Asian American communities Basic skills in any Asian language NCAAT is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender, gender identity, age, or disability.
