Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary:
The Membership Director is responsible for driving membership growth, retention, communication, and member-focused events at Metairie Country Club, a private club known for its exceptional amenities and services. This role manages the full membership lifecycle—from initial inquiry and onboarding to ongoing engagement—leveraging technology, clear communication, and strong administrative skills to ensure a seamless and professional experience for members. In addition to membership responsibilities, the Membership Director will oversee select administrative functions related to the Board of Directors and the General Manager. The ideal candidate is both people-oriented and tech-savvy, with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. They should be highly engaged in the evolving private club industry and committed to implementing efficient, hospitality-driven strategies to enhance member experience and engagement
Key Responsibilities:
Membership Sales & Growth Respond promptly to membership inquiries via phone, email, in person, and web forms. We are an invitation-only private club and do not utilize traditional forms of marketing or public relations . Conduct enthusiastic and thorough tours and present the club’s benefits clearly to prospective members. Follow up with prospects and manage the membership application process from start to finish. Member Onboarding & Retention Coordinate and lead onboarding for new members, including but not limited to welcome emails, orientation materials, introductions to staff and services, website navigation, and social media platform onboarding. Maintain regular contact with members, ensuring satisfaction and proactively addressing any issues or concerns. Under the leadership of the General Manager-organize periodic member feedback surveys and assist with retention initiatives based on results. Organize member-focused traditions at the Club. These include but are not limited to-Mother’s Day, Easter Egg Hunts, Holiday Hay Rides, The Annual Style Show and more. Technology & Administration Maintain and update member records and prospect data in Jonas Club management software. Generate monthly reports on membership activity, retention rates, and demographics using Excel or database tools. Assist in preparing marketing materials and email campaigns using platforms like Constant Contact, Canva, or similar tools to current members. Maintain the company website, ensuring all membership related information is current and accurate. Maintain the Club’s private social media platform accounts. Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accuracy in all confidential financial matters associated with the role. Event & Communications Support Collaborate with the events team to promote member events and open house activities. Help draft and send newsletters, event invitations, and updates via email and other communication platforms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field. Ideally 2-4 years of experience in a leadership, customer service, or administrative role—experience in a club or hospitality setting is a plus. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Jonas Club Management Software, and email marketing platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management. Friendly, professional demeanor with a proactive and solutions-oriented attitude.
Working Conditions:
Mandatory hours are Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm and a once monthly 4 hour Board meeting. Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays are required for tours or events. Some walking and standing during tours and events. Private office Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally for event setup or materials.
