Job Description
Member Relations Coordinator Berwick – YMCA 231 West 3rd Street, Berwick, PA 18603 Berwick Area YMCA is looking for a part-time member relations coordinator to join our team. We are located on 231 W 3rd Street. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.
POSITION SUMMARY
Operates, maintains and improves Welcome Center services working to ensure the member experience meets Berwick YMCA standards and ensuring excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Serves as the liaison between the membership department and the business office with regard to membership and program financial transactions. In constant contact with all directors about any program and facility changes. Ensures all business procedures and Welcome Center policies are followed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention 2. Assists in recruitment, hiring, training, development, scheduling and directing of membership personnel as needed. Conducts ongoing assessments of staff functions to determine required competencies and skills and designs and implements training as needed. Assists in development of strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 3. Coordinates and disseminates all information for the Welcome Center. Ensures all information is accurate. Keeps all forms up-to-date and communicates any changes to the staff. 4. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains organization of the Welcome Center area. 5. Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Ensures program registration procedures are in place for timely registration. Provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues. 6. Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Assists in the development of new systems and procedures that result in effective Welcome Center function. Reviews procedures and communicates changes to staff. Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions. 7. Coordinates membership billing process and maintains accurate membership data. Updates registration software to reflect accurate registration information is included in the system. 8. Coordinates the daily cash reconciliation with the business office. 9. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in related field preferred with equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Enjoy, be skilled at and understand the importance of building relationships with people: members, staff, volunteers, donors, community leaders. High degree of accuracy with information provided, multi-task oriented; able to take initiative; effective organizational skills; effective communication skills. Ability to develop effective working relationships, and to effectively communicate and problem-solve. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. 3. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software including Microsoft Word and Excel 4. Previous supervisory experience preferred; ability to accomplish goals and objectives through others. 5. Ability to work with integrity, discretion, confidentiality and a professional approach. 6. Understanding of basic accounting concepts and applications including cash reconciliation. 7. Ability to pass background checks in accordance with all Berwick Area YMCA policies for child abuse prevention. CPR and First Aid certifications may be required. Hours are Monday through Friday from 11:00am-4:00pm with availability to cover all shifts as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities. •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment. •Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
Available shifts and compensation:
Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation depends on your experience. About Berwick –
