The Membership Development Coordinator serves as the primary driver of new membership growth at the YMCA of Indiana County.

This position is responsible for:

Developing and executing sales strategies, Building relationships in the community Converting prospective members into active members, and supporting membership revenue goals. The focus of this role is active recruitment, relationship selling, and growth of membership revenue .

KNOWLEDGE – SKILLS – ABILITIES

A bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent and or marketing environment are desired. Must possess strong communication skills, sound reasoning ability and aptitude for working with others in a patient professional manner that instills the YMCA character development values and mission. Skills in leadership and supervision, and experience using Microsoft Office are desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively generate new membership leads through outbound calls, in-person tours, referral programs, corporate partnerships, and community events. Conduct high-quality facility tours focused on uncovering prospect needs and matching them with YMCA programs and services. Follow up promptly with all prospective members to encourage membership sign-up. Track and report on all membership leads, sales activity, and conversion rates. Collaborate with marketing team to execute membership promotions and campaigns. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to drive corporate memberships. Represent the YMCA at community events, fairs, and expos to promote YMCA services. Partner with the Member Engagement Coordinator to ensure seamless onboarding for new members. Maintain a visible presence in the facility to build rapport with new and current members. Support the front desk as needed to ensure consistent, positive member service. Maintain accurate records of sales activity, leads, and membership trends in YMCA systems. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales activity, lead generation, and membership growth for leadership review. Analyze trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly. Interview, hire and train front-line Member Services Representatives to promote a membership growth mindset. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team culture centered on growth, engagement, and member impact.
