J.McLaughlin is looking for a Corporate Visual Strategy & Presentation Associate to join our Visual team reporting to the Senior Director of Visual Strategy. The Corporate Visual Strategy & Presentation Associate is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director of Visual Strategy with all planning and execution of the company’s visual presentation with a focus on our retail stores, off-site events, and pop-up shops. They are a proactive thought leader that effects change and growth initiatives through strong relationships with the cross-functional team, which includes Design, Merchandising, Marketing, Regional Directors, District Managers and Store Teams. This position works closely with the Regional Visual Team to set and communicate brand presentation strategies and business priorities applicable to their regions. This position is based in our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office location and works from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assists in the development and execution of compelling in-store displays, window presentations, and product placement choices that reflect the J.McLaughlin brand aesthetic, strategy, and ethos. Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing, retail operations, store design, and store teams to align visual merchandising strategies with overall brand objectives. Ability to drive business through strong, creative visual presentation points throughout the store based on sell[1]through, product availability, store capacity, etc. Manage Visual calendar and help oversee the Visual budget. Communicate with vendors to ensure all in-store displays are properly distributed and delivered to stores. Partner with Senior Director and RVM team to schedule project rollouts, floor sets, events, etc. Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all retail channels. React to in-season business and commercial planning needs leveraging partnerships with Regional Visual Managers and Omnichannel partners to move the traction of the business forward. Serve as the liaison between store teams and corporate office by managing flow of communication between visual team and store teams through weekly conference calls and store visits and help stores interpret corporate visual guidelines through these visits. Partner with Marketing & Merchandising teams to support in-store and off-site events and execution of Pop-up shops. Work closely with Construction & Facilities team to provide feedback on store layout as it relates to visual merchandising, fixture placement, fixture design and store capacity. Provide insight into current and future visual merchandising initiatives, fixture design, and visual display design. Evaluate the effectiveness of visual implementations by reviewing sales data and store visit reports. Stay up to date on global and regional business trends, industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to inform future merchandising strategies and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Communications, Business, or related field. Proven ability in managing projects from inception to completion. Deep knowledge in working within a cross-functional organization and the complexities associated with it. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to handle multiple projects in various phases while meeting tight deadlines. Must exhibit a keen eye for fashion trends and an ability to encompass that into visual presentations. Must be able to read and interpret floor plans. Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Photoshop. Must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule to conduct installations outside of standard working and retail hours.
