Owned Channel Position Summary:
Newell Brands is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Associate Manager, Merchandise Planning to support the development and execution of promotional strategies and category-level forecasts that drive growth, profitability, and operational alignment across our Omni Channel portfolio. This role plays a critical part in connecting brand, sales, and finance teams through effective trade planning and data-driven forecasting. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and eager to translate insights into action.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Sr. Manager of Planning in development, executing, and analyzing promotions to maximize ROI and brand health
Build and maintain promotional calendars that align with brand and customer strategies
Lead forecasting efforts for key categories, integrating inputs from sales, marketing, and historical data to support demand planning and supply chain alignment
Evaluate promotional performance by analyzing lift, volume impact, and margin implications
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Brand, Finance, and Demand Planning to ensure forecast accuracy and trade plan alignment
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform promotional strategy and execution
Develop and maintain promotional dashboards and tools to communicate upcoming events and performance recaps
Present promotional results, learnings, and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field
3+ years of experience in trade marketing, promotions, demand forecasting, or related functions in a direct to consumer business
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization platforms (Power BI or Tableau preferred)
Working knowledge of syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) and forecasting methodologies
Excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience with SAP, TPM, or other trade management systems is a plus The New Jersey base pay range for this position is from $113,200 to $138,350. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position. Newell Brands (
