Parts Manager General Purpose of the Position The Parts Coordinator will be responsible for researching and supplying parts and accessories over the counter, through the shop or on the phone to meet internal and external customers’ requests. Ensures appropriate stock and inventory of parts and accessories by requisitioning through various sources. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team environment, be mechanically inclined, stay organized and possess strong communication skills. This opportunity represents Toyota Material Handling Midsouth and requires professionalism, attention to detail, great attitude, and outstanding customer service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Keep constant communication with dispatch and field technicians on daily schedules, order status and needed parts Coordinate with shop manager and shop technicians on order status and needed parts Specify and identify parts needed to meet client requirements, so that number of parts returns due to errors is low Maintain accurate sales and inventory records of all line items Ensure parts are charged to repair orders Requisition non-stock or special-order parts Follow up on special ordered items, and notify the client or technicians when received Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary Upgrade knowledge of products and services and maintain professional and technical expertise by training on-the-job Help answer incoming phone calls Serve as the back-up to the Parts Associate Organize paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completion Keep a neat and orderly work area Maintain and care for parts department ensuring all areas are indicated and labeled properly Participate in all parts inventory counts and van inventory checks Provide feedback to Parts Department leadership on parts regularly used, overstocked, etc. Utilize all available resources to provide the highest level of customer service possible Skills and Abilities Required All Verbal and Written Communication must be done in the English Language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technician procedures, or government regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics to practical situations Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Other Skills and Abilities Ability to use reference books, materials, and microfiche. Certification and ability to operate material handling equipment. Possess a valid driver’s license and maintains an acceptable driving record as determined by our automobile insurance carrier General mechanical aptitude and ability is necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. General understanding of Windows operating system (including email and MS suite applications) and cell phone usage.
