The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to customers while managing the sales and inventory of automotive parts. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Parts Counterman will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining efficient operations within the parts department. Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them in identifying and locating the necessary automotive parts. Utilize POS systems to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Maintain an organized inventory of parts, ensuring that stock levels are monitored and replenished as needed. Negotiate pricing with customers while providing competitive market insights. Assist in the training of new staff on sales techniques and product knowledge. Utilize Excel for tracking inventory levels, sales data, and reporting purposes. Handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately, adhering to cash handling procedures. Provide multilingual support to customers when necessary, enhancing customer experience. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of parts and resolve any issues. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or automotive parts sales is preferred. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus. Strong understanding of retail math principles to manage inventory effectively. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to close sales effectively. Proficiency in using POS systems for transaction processing. Multilingual abilities are highly desirable, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base. A strong background in customer service with excellent interpersonal skills.
