The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department within a marine diesel engine dealership environment. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a solid understanding of diesel engine repair processes. The Service Coordinator will facilitate communication between office staff and technicians, manage service orders, and ensure parts are ordered accurately and in a timely manner. Duties Communicate effectively with technicians regarding their parts needs and provide updates on the status of their orders. Utilize an Order Management System to track service requests and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with technicians to ensure that all repairs are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards. Assist in the pick-up, delivery, and / or return of service parts. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols when operating equipment such as forklifts. Requirements Previous experience in marine diesel engine repair or within a dealership setting is preferred. Familiarity with industry-leading engine and generator lines, such as Volvo-Penta, Cummins, ONAN, FPT, John Deere, Nanni, Westerbeke & Yanmar. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Proficiency in using an Order Management System or similar software for tracking orders and services. Basic knowledge of equipment repair processes is beneficial. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. A valid driver’s license is required; forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory.
