SUMMARY Parts associate is typically the first point of contact for a customer or technician in need of a part. Their overall objective is to supply the customer with all the correct part(s) necessary for a said job in an efficient manner with superior customer service.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The parts associate is the person responsible for locating and supplying parts for the customer/technicians. He/she must have above average people skills and be experienced enough to know all the applicable parts required to do certain jobs. He/she uses various forms of schematics for identifying specific parts daily. They also determine best vendors for those parts, designate shipping methods and receiving of those parts. The parts associate is also primarily responsible for maintaining a neat, orderly, and accurate parts inventory system.
Requirements:
SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic computer skills: typing, NDS, Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Ability to work well with customers and co-workers, personable. Average knowledge of forklift, parts, and their functions General knowledge of inventory control methods Maintain PO system and monitor outstanding PO’s. Ability to utilize Dealer Portal for parts lookup and ordering for Toyota units. Ability to source non-Toyota parts as well as all makes of aftermarket parts. Follow all 5S policies and procedures. Ability to safely operate forklift(s) equipment (training internally provided)
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of parts procurement experience Forklift technical experience a plus
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or
GED WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is in an office setting where the noise level is generally quiet to sometimes moderate if working near the shop area. Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
