General Description:
Service Parts Clerk is responsible for seeing day-to-day operations related to service and repair parts. Ensures that parts are available to the technicians in a timely manner, conducts regular inventories, monitors utilization trends, and forecasts parts usage. Leverages multiple vendors to ensure the company is receiving the best quality parts and the best price.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Oversee the tracking, ordering, and organization of parts inventory to ensure parts are readily available when needed. Maintains accurate records of stock levels, parts usage, and reorder schedules. Conduct 100% inventory quarterly. Update CMMS daily.
Parts Procurement:
Source and purchase high-quality parts and components at competitive prices, maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors. Ensure timely delivery of parts and manage lead times effectively. Researches repair parts prices among different distributors to ensure the company is receiving the best possible prices.
Order Fulfillment:
Ensure that parts orders are processed and delivered on time to avoid downtime in operations or repairs. Collaborate with service technicians to understand the required parts for various jobs. Coordinate parts delivery and pickup.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate regular reports on inventory status, parts usage, and procurement activities. Analyze trends to forecast future parts needs and ensure the department runs efficiently.
Financial Management:
Review and process part invoices. Assign and charge parts to the appropriate equipment work order. Process and file all financial records. Monitor CMMS for high dollar repairs and high-volume parts issue.
Parts Storage:
Review parts self-life. Return any parts not used outside of a six-month time frame. Return obsolete parts or parts belonging to equipment not in the inventory. Maintain organized parts in assigned storage locations.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED 3 years’ experience in a parts warehousing / parts supply environment Valid NC Driver License, clean driving record, and have reliable transportation to work Skilled in Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel primarily) Ability to learn new software programs (parts inventory management software is a plus) Able to lift (up to 75 lbs.), and be physically fit to perform tasks and operate equipment Work independently and diligently with minimal directions, to complete tasks on schedule Communicate well with team members and supervisors Apply creativity to solve problems and contribute to the success of the team
