IS NOT A CLERICAL POSITION
  • This position will serve as Parts Clerk dealing mainly with ordering, receiving & issuing parts for the Division 8 Equipment Shop located in Carthage.

The person in this position will operate a computer terminal in SAP/3 entering goods issued and goods received under transaction MIGO, order parts from parts manuals and Electronic Manuals, issue parts to technicians, receive parts, and unload shipments from Vendors/Division Shop. Work order preparation and daily time entry will also be entered into SAP by the person in this position. The applicant must have the ability to operate a computer terminal and should know how to work in Microsoft Word and have considerable knowledge of the materials and parts used in the repair and maintenance of light to heavy construction equipment. The applicant must have a working knowledge of the methods and practices used in maintaining inventory control records. The ability to estimate the amounts and types of supplies required based on past use and probable future is needed. The ability to correctly identify automotive, heavy equipment and construction equipment parts through the use of catalogs or physical inspection is needed. Maintain office records and prepare reports from these records. Must understand and be able to follow oral and written instructions. Maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Ability to lift 50lbs and move heavy objects such as batteries for heavy equipment, grader blades, and large tires may be needed. Ability to accurately process work, time, and work orders produced by personnel. Ability to work in emergency situations and inclement weather; emergency callback may be required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following: Demonstrated ability to correctly identify automotive and construction equipment parts through use of catalogs or physical inspection. Experience with physical inventory maintenance procedures (i.e. daily, and annual spot checks/counting). Experience with data entry including invoicing and purchasing requisitions. Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.

The selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety toe footwear required.
