Job Description
Parts Crib Attendant The Crump Group USA Inc. Nashville, NC 27856 Overview The Parts Crib Attendant is responsible for ordering and the accurate handling, storage, issuance, and inventory control of spare parts and industrial components used in the maintenance and repair of the building, machinery and equipment. This role ensures that parts are readily available to minimize downtime and supports the efficient operation of the facility. Issues items to the shop floor, and reorders as necessary using the appropriate system.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains professional and courteous customer relationships with client, vendor, and internal team.
- Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming spare parts and materials.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as needed.
- Issue spare parts to maintenance and operations staff per work order requirements.
- Ensure all parts are stored in designated locations and that inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Keep storage areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Work with vendors and procurement teams to track order statuses and resolve supply issues.
- Maintain records of parts usage, returns, and warranty claims.
- Use computerized inventory systems (e.g., ERP or CMMS) for tracking and reporting.
- Provide basic support in identifying compatible parts or alternatives when necessary.
- Prepares and audits spare parts requisitions for purchase.
- Keeps updated records with status of spare parts.
- Controls access to the spare parts crib.
- Prepares spare parts requisitions as required.
- Assign work order numbers to spare parts requisitions.
- Maintains BOM lists for each asset, and updated list of critical spare parts.
- Ensure Min/Max setup for each part is adequate and parts are reordered as per standards.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is an advantage.
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or maintenance support role—preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment and spare parts nomenclature.
- Proficiency with inventory software and basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP/CMMS systems).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification a plus).
Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the ability to regularly climb platform ladders, stepladders, extension ladders.
- Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
- Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
- Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
- Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
- Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior warehouse, tool crib, or parts crib experience. Experience with Ariba system, Material Handling Systems, Work Order / CMMS Systems, Hazardous Materials Systems, and/or crib systems. Willing and able to work off shifts and weekends as needed. Experience operating forklifts, or willingness to be trained at facility. Technical certification or specialized training preferred.
