Position Summary
The MRO Parts Coordinator plays a crucial role in our manufacturing plant, ensuring the efficient procurement, organization, and distribution of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) parts and supplies. This role focuses specifically on the parts and materials required to maintain and repair equipment and facilities, minimizing downtime and supporting smooth manufacturing operations. This involves close collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and purchasing departments.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management (MRO Focus):
Monitor inventory levels of MRO parts and supplies, proactively identifying potential shortages or surpluses.
Utilize inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, CMMS, ERP, MRP) to track inventory, generate reports, and analyze trends, specifically for MRO items.
Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including cycle counting, stock rotation, and proper storage, tailored to MRO needs.
Collaborate with purchasing to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels for MRO items, considering lead times and criticality.
Manage and maintain accurate records of all MRO parts and materials, including location, quantity, specifications, and vendor information.
Parts Procurement & Logistics (MRO Focus):
Initiate requisitions for MRO parts and supplies as needed, often for urgent or unplanned repairs.
Expedite MRO orders and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, prioritizing critical items.
Receive and inspect incoming MRO parts and materials for quality and accuracy, documenting any discrepancies.
Coordinate with suppliers specializing in MRO items to resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
Manage the storage and organization of MRO parts and materials in designated areas, often with specific requirements for storage conditions or accessibility.
Maintenance Support:
Provide timely and accurate support to maintenance teams by delivering required MRO parts and supplies.
Prioritize urgent requests and troubleshoot parts-related issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and procure parts for preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
Manage and organize the MRO storeroom, ensuring easy access and efficient retrieval of parts.
Data Management & Reporting (MRO Focus):
Maintain accurate records of all MRO transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and work orders.
Generate reports on MRO inventory levels, usage, costs, and other key metrics.
Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in MRO inventory management and parts procurement processes.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures related to material handling and storage, particularly for potentially hazardous MRO items.
Maintain a clean and organized MRO storeroom and work environment.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
We we are looking for
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or vocational training in a related field preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in MRO parts coordination, inventory control, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in SAP required
Strong understanding of MRO inventory management principles and practices.
Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, CMMS, ERP, MRP).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, especially for managing urgent requests.
Ability to identify parts
Ability to interpret operating and maintenance manuals and technical drawings to ensure correct parts are ordered.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with operators, supervisors, maintenance personnel/planners, and procurement.
Ability to streamline processes and negotiation skills are a must.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong leadership abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (if required).
