Reports To:
Branch Manager Sell Parts and Service- Secures orders, conducts surveys of assigned territory, study product population; plans sales calls, point out the benefit of the equipment, OEM repair kits, parts and accessories. Emphasize the advantages of dealing with our company. Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers. Plan sales calls to job sites and equipment yards, so as to utilize as much time as possible in contact with customer and prospects. Recommends specific repair kits, parts and accessories best suited for customer’s use. Help customers solve problems, provide technical assistance as needed, keep customer up to date on new developments. Evaluate customer equipment, major components, sectional casing, tools and buckets. Work with Branch Sales and Service departments to promote Service Specials. Perform basic inspections of BG, RTG and KLEMM rigs. Communicate recommended repairs with customers and local branch service departments. Inspect and diagnose Kelly Bar repairs, and coordinate estimates and repairs with local branch service departments. Keep informed on new opportunities; establish and maintain personal relationships with customers; assist at trade shows, exhibits, demonstrations and meetings. Keep familiar with new products developed by suppliers and by competition, keep company informed of changes, which can affect performance. Develop business plans/action plans for assigned territories. Maintain system for keeping literature, brochures, price sheets, etc., neat and up to date and properly distributed. Maintain inventory of parts van, including tracking which parts are best to stock, and ordering parts to replenish stock that’s needed. Maintain records of calls, make sales call reports, follow up on all leads, contract lettings and inquiries. Control travel, telephone and entertainment expenses. Submit expense reports by the 10th of each month. Maintain required communications; advise supervisor of all changes in territory which can affect company success; cooperate with other company personnel through proper chain of command. Maintain a high degree of professionalism through study and attendance at meetings, association activities where improvement programs are offered. See that equipment parts and accessories are correctly delivered and meets all of the conditions of the sale; take action to have prompt service rendered in case of any deficiencies. Attend mandatory sales meetings and company training programs.
