POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong MS Excel skills, be detail-oriented, be a proactive problem solver, and must be a team player. This role will be responsible for reviewing and setting up timekeeper standard rates, ensuring the approval of client fee arrangements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your ability to collaborate with various departments, manage multiple priorities, and provide insightful financial analysis will be crucial. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with partners and clients, ensuring that our pricing strategies align with client needs and firm goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and set-up of standard rates for new timekeepers: Ensure accurate and timely establishment of standard rates for new employees. Review and approve fee arrangements in new matter requests in the Conflict’s New Business Intake (NBI) process: Evaluate and authorize fee arrangements for new business matters to ensure compliance and profitability.
Review newly opened matters:
Document fee arrangements and set up any non-standard fee arrangements for new cases. Work with the Billing Department to set up appropriate agreed rates in the accounting system: Collaborate with the billing team to implement agreed rates in the accounting system, adhering to client rate restrictions. Validate, set-up and maintain negotiated rates and other fee arrangement metrics in accounting system: Ensure negotiated rates and fee metrics are accurately recorded and maintained in the accounting system. Review and respond to Outside Counsel Guideline and Engagement Letter review requests: Identify financial terms impacting the firm’s realization and incorporate agreed rates and fee-related terms into the accounting system. Prepare and send notice to partners of attained and upcoming budget thresholds for client billable matters: Inform partners of budget thresholds to ensure financial targets are met. Work with Client Pricing Analysts to facilitate rate/pricing requirements: Collaborate with pricing analysts to meet the rate and pricing needs of clients, partners, and various firm departments. Conduct annual review of Firm override rate arrangements with partners: Review and update override rate arrangements annually, ensuring accurate information in the accounting system. Maintain database of client required rate change notices: Manage and distribute timely rate change information to partners and clients based on yearly standard rate increases. Provide ad hoc reporting/support to partners and department management: Offer customized reports and support to partners and management as needed. Special projects, as assigned: Undertake additional projects as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS BA/BS
in accounting, finance, or business required. Minimum of two years of either legal billing, pricing, or financial reporting and analysis experience in a professional services environment required. This role is fully remote but must reside in a commutable distance to a firm office.
COMPETENCIES
Strong technical skills: High proficiency in MS Excel is necessary. Other MS Office applications are a plus. Understanding of accounting systems, procedures, and principles: Solid Knowledge of accounting systems and principles, including client pricing standards and alternative fee arrangements. Strong oral and written communication skills: Due to the remote nature of this position, the ability to effectively communicate effectively via a variety of channels, with all levels of personnel, is critical. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills: Capability to manage multiple priorities, complete tasks and develop solutions to challenging situations is essential. Experience with Aderant, Intapp Intake, Clocktimizer a plus: Familiarity with these systems is advantageous.

The target annual salary range for this role is currently $87,000 – $102,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
