Job Description

Job summary: This position, to be based at the Company’s corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL and reporting to the Director of Real Estate. The Real Estate Specialist will be responsible for various activities related to the Company’s stewardship of its owned and leased trucking terminals, former terminals, and other properties, including inspecting the Company’s owned and leased properties to ensure they continue to be used in a safe and secure manner, inspecting properties subleased to third parties to ensure those parties are complying with their lease obligations, assisting in the implementation of property-related capital expenditure projects, and assisting in identification of new terminal locations, preparing those terminals for start-up, and closures of old facilities. Position will also be expected, after appropriate training, to be able to identify and communicate basic EH&S issues observed at Company properties as well as assist, when requested and with appropriate direction, in coordinating remediation activities. Position may be assigned to special projects or tasks from time-to-time as needed. The position will require significant, regular, multi-day travel to visit our properties.

Essential Functions:

Perform on-site property and facility inspections of Company-owned and -leased properties, including such properties that may be leased to third parties. Perform / supervise property maintenance tasks at the direction of the Director of Facilities Real Estate Oversight or, if so directed, facility performance of those tasks by third party contractors and others. Following training, and using provided environmental, OSHA and other checklists as well as observational skills, identify potential concerns at such properties and report them to appropriate compliance personnel.

Education and Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in a suitable field preferred, or suitable experience. Fall Protection Competent Person Certification obtained within 6 months. MEWP and Forklift cert obtained within 6 months.

Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects at once Demonstrable project management skills preferred Willingness to expand knowledge base through appropriate training Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with clarity, impact and passion Comfort level with utilizing smart phone/tablet applications in carrying out job duties, especially inspections

This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
