This position requires 1-2 years of experience in affordable housing , including HUD programs (HCVP, Section 8, LIHTC) . Candidates without this specific experience will not be considered.

A minimum of 1-2 years as a Leasing Agent with affordable housing experience is required. About the Role As a Leasing Agent
• Affordable Housing , you will serve as a key representative for our properties, focusing on assisting tenants with HUD programs, managing leasing processes, and maintaining compliance with HUD regulations.

Your role will be critical to ensuring our properties provide quality housing while adhering to affordable housing standards. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary HUD representative for the property, managing client relationships and securing lease agreements. Prepare and process monthly recertification letters and packets for tenants and landlords. Maintain and update participant files according to HUD rules and regulations. Assist with income verification, tenant documentation, and program compliance. Prepare reports, meet strict deadlines, and enter accurate data into program databases. Inspect units to ensure compliance with Housing Quality Standards, when needed. Process landlord payments and manage billing for housing assistance. Mediate disputes between tenants and landlords and address general complaints. Support property operations, including maintaining knowledge of HUD program updates and regulations. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Leasing Agent with affordable housing experience (HUD programs such as Section 8, HCVP, or LIHTC required). High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to work with diverse populations and handle frequent interruptions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in program participant documentation, database entry, and report preparation. Preferred Skills Experience conducting unit inspections and negotiating rent amounts with property owners. Familiarity with Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) or similar HUD initiatives.
