The Opportunity:
As a real estate paralegal, you will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, due diligence, closing and post-closing activities for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing and leasing. You will be a member of the firm’s Real Estate department, reporting to the attorneys on your team.
The Day-To-Day:
On any given day, you will: Order and review title commitments, exception documents, surveys and other due diligence (such as zoning or environmental reports), interfacing directly with the title company surveyor or other vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies Prepare title objection letters and negotiate title policies and endorsements. Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists. Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings, including preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, signature page packages, notices and other closing documents. Attend to all post-closing requirements, including preparation of closing indices, organization of closing binders, and monitoring of all post-closing deliveries and requirements with regular updates to applicable attorneys. Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memorandum. Review lease agreements and loan documents. Prepare initial draft documents, amendments to agreements or miscellaneous documents, including estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease for attorney review. Review organizational and authority documents, prepare formations, obtain EINs. Order and review UCC Lien, PACER and other searches.
You Have:
A bachelor’s degree (required) Exceptional interpersonal skills Exhibit a high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Explorer and Outlook) required
