Real Estate Collections Specialist Confidential Plainfield, NJ 07060 Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of real estate collections. As a Collection Agent, you will be responsible for managing client relations, and ensuring timely collection of debts while maintaining positive customer relationships. Duties Contact customers to collect outstanding payments on their accounts through phone calls and written correspondence. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers to facilitate debt recovery with approval of CFO. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to collections. Perform account reconciliation to ensure all payments are accurately applied. Utilize knowledge of financial concepts and coding practices to assess customer accounts effectively. Provide exceptional customer service while addressing inquiries and resolving disputes related to billing. Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices in medical collections, including familiarity with real estate when applicable. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for improving collection processes. Experience Previous experience in real estate or customer service is preferred. Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and collection practices is a plus. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally. Understanding of debits, credits, and basic accounting principles. Proficiency in using collection software and tools for tracking accounts. Knowledge of financial concepts relevant to collections will be beneficial.
