The successful candidate will join our team of distribution center professionals.

JOB PURPOSE

The Returns Processing Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling returned inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role involves unpacking, sorting, and inspecting returned books and materials, utilizing warehouse systems for inventory management, and ensuring returned items are processed according to company standards. The Returns Processing Associate maintains a clean and organized work area and contributes to a positive, team-oriented culture while upholding safety and accuracy standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

: Receive and process returned books and materials by unpacking, sorting, and scanning items upon arrival. Inspect each item for damage, correct labeling, and completeness, ensuring they meet quality standards. Utilize handheld scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately record items into inventory. Apply “Not Our Product” (NOP) labels to items as required. Organize processed materials into designated bins, totes, or carts for restocking or outbound shipment. Identify and report misprinted, damaged, or defective items to supervisory staff promptly. Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Consistently meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy benchmarks. Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

QUALIFICAT I ONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 to 3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred. Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems or scanners is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Capable of lifting and carrying items over 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks. Strong time management and organizational skills. Reliable with a record of good attendance. Positive, team-oriented attitude. Thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Work Environment:

Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures. Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Use of warehouse equipment and machinery.
