ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front End
- Ensure all customers have an impeccable
CHEF’STORE
experience bydeveloping and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers.
Utilize all tools and skills learned in the
CHEF’STORE
Way trainingand model the behavior in the store
- Perform sales and cashfunctions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Thisincludes scanning merchandise, by utilizing a held-held scan gun or10 keypad, weighing product on countertop scales as necessary, andlooking up any product that will not scan.
- Ensure that eachitem’s barcode is accurately reflected in the system and report anydiscrepancies to Front End Lead or Manager of Day (MOD)
- Performcart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout, including avisual inspection to look for product tampering
- Perform dutiesas receipt checker; verifying cart content vs. purchases, ascustomers leave the store
- Perform store opening and/or closingfunctions at the front end based on assigned shift.
Sales Floor andStocking
- Ensure a continuing focus on increasing sales andmanaging shrinkage.
- Work with customers to ensure they find theproducts they need and are made aware of all the other servicesavailable to them in the store
- Assist in receiving inventoryshipments and maintaining and stocking shelves in a neat andorderly fashion while also ensuring proper rotation and productquality audits.
- Report any low stock levels to store management
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled. This includesblaster tagging unscannable merchandise, applying catch weightlabels to all merchandise sold by the pound, and affixing plu tagsto produce items
- Replenish sales floor daily by down stockingfreight from top stock. Ensure that the oldest product is broughtdown first and stocked in accordance with FIFO. Each out product asnecessary.
- Reach trucks and pallet jacks will be used in themovement of product and stocking
- Utilize computer programs suchas Microsoft Word and Excel, and proprietary software as needed
- Ensure all products are easily accessible, visually appealing, andconstantly available
- Assist with price changes as directed bythe Pricing Lead and Store Management
- Assist in the opening andclosing duties of the store
- Participate in the inventory andcycle count process as needed.
Customer Courtesy
- Ensure that thefacility is well maintained and is a safe environment for staff andcustomers by following safety policies and practices.
- Notifystore management of any safety issues in the store, correct ifpossible
- Ensure the cleanliness of the sales floor, front end,and restrooms. Utilize cleaning equipment to assist in theseduties
- Ensure the cleanliness of the parking lot and storeentry area
- Gather carts from the parking lot and cart corralsand bring them back to the designated area. Ensure all are cleanand operable
- In addition to the above duties, you may beresponsible for other duties and responsibilities as assigned orrequired by Store Management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work isperformed in a retail store setting, open to the public. Whileperforming the duties of this job, exposure to outside weatherconditions which can include inclement weather.
- The noise levelin the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work is typicallyperformed on a level surface however the use of a ladder or workingon an elevated surface may be required as needed.
- Temperaturevaries throughout the store ranging from
- 10 to 85 degrees.
- Required to physically interact with customers.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/orstocking experience required
- Minimum one year retail sellingand/or customer service experience preferred.
