The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, efficiently handle transactions, and maintain a positive shopping experience for all customers. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and assist them with their shopping needs. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively sell items and answer customer inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally. Assist in supervising junior staff members when needed, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking bags and supplies as necessary. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Requirements Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred, especially in a grocery store setting. Strong phone etiquette and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with POS systems is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
