JOB BRIEF
Our Retail Team Lead position is focused on people with great customer service skills, combined with a great work ethic and a passion for helping people. Retail Team Leads will drive sales through exceptional customer service at the register and on the salesfloor, proper display set-up and maintenance, merchandise presentation and cleanliness for operational excellence. We are recruiting outgoing self-starters, who are results-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position provides a unique opportunity for those looking to grow their retail management knowledge and excel within the company.
JOB DUTIES
Greets and interacts with customers Answers customer requests promptly Assists customers in finding merchandise Answers cash register calls promptly Operates the register when needed Demonstrates a high sense of urgency with all assignments Follows proper procedures for handling claims merchandise Knowledgeable about products, discounts, and company mission Remains knowledgeable regarding all areas of the store operation Oversee cash register operations to ensure a quick, accurate and positive experience for customers. Receives and responds to customer/donor questions, requests, and complaints. Delivers a positive and unforgettable customer/donor experience by setting the example, training and coaching customer service expectations to team members. Creates and maintains visually appealing merchandise displays. Maintains respectful, values-driven workplace. Brings complaints to the attention of Supervisor, ASM or General Manager, to resolve issues consistent with America’s Thrift Stores values, policies, and procedures. Protects company assets and information by ensuring their safe handling, security, and integrity. Proactively promotes loss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and ensuring policies are in place. In the absence of the Supervisor or ASM, oversees, implements and administers the retail process and team in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Performs any other task, function or responsibility as instructed by their immediate supervisor and/or superior manager of the Company. Assists the Supervisor with team members and supervises the work of the department Assists with training of new team members
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences preferred Must be at least 16 years of age Displays excellent sales and customer service skills through interactions both in person and on the phone Ability to anticipate customers’ needs and recommend merchandise Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to count and handle money Ability to operate cash register Must be able to pass background check.
