We are YOUR source for steel — and we’re looking for a Counter Sales Associate to join our Sales Team . This role is focused on helping customers at the counter and over the phone — entering orders, taking payments, and coordinating with production and sales staff to ensure a smooth experience from start to finish.
Job Summary:
The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers at the front counter and over the phone, processing orders, handling payments, and ensuring accurate coordination with internal departments. This position is administrative and service-focused , with light sales responsibilities added over time as product knowledge develops. You’ll work closely with other members of the sales team to provide a seamless and professional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers at the sales counter in a professional, courteous manner Answer incoming phone calls and assist with basic inquiries Accurately enter customer orders and process payments (cash, card, checks) Coordinate with the Sales Team and Plant to ensure each customer order is accurate, complete, and routed to the right pickup area Maintain a clean and organized front counter area Make follow-up calls for order status or customer updates Support sales efforts with quoting, product info, and upselling— as appropriate after training Collaborate with Sales Team to ensure consistent service and communication
Qualifications:
Prior experience in administrative support, reception, customer service, order processing, or sales support preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment Comfortable with computers and basic POS/order entry systems. ERP experience is preferred. Willingness to learn product knowledge to support customer inquiries and sales efforts Bilingual is a plus, but not required
