Full Job Description Position Overview:

Episcopal School of Jacksonville is seeking an enthusiastic individual to perform tasks that efficiently serve the Campus Store’s customers and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate a computer point-of-sale cash register efficiently, ensuring that all functions are performed diligently and effectively, including counting money, making correct change, and issuing receipts. Greet and assist customers. Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and issues and provide general information concerning store products, information, and hours. Advise the Manager of customer suggestions, compliments, or complaints. Receive merchandise in accordance with established procedures. Properly price products according to pricing procedures. Responsible for merchandise placement in the proper display areas and storage of excess merchandise in the stock areas. Receive, check, and count merchandise brought over from storage. Monitor inventory levels and stock merchandise in an orderly and timely manner. Notify manager of all low and out-of-stock situations. Maintain and organize the store and its fixtures, etc., in a clean and orderly fashion. Assist with decorating windows and display setups for special occasions. Produce computer-generated signage for informational ads, promotional ads, and event notices as assigned. Take physical inventories periodically, and may assist in the annual physical inventory. Maintain routine records related to assigned activities as required. Assist with shipping of merchandise to web and telephone order customers. Perform additional related tasks assigned by the Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic cashiering and customer service techniques, practices, and procedures. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Basic record-keeping techniques. Basic mathematical computations. Greet and assist customers.. Perform cashiering duties, count money, and make correct change. Maintain store environment in a clean and orderly condition. Stock shelves and displays with appropriate products as needed. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to work well independently and as a team member. Maintain routine records related to work performed. Detail-oriented and organized approach to work. Excellent record of attendance and reliability.
