Job Description:

Responsible for the Pro Shop operations including, but not limited to merchandise, front desk, and racquet court bookings.

Job Duties :

1. Purchasing clothing and merchandise for Pro Shop. 2. Inventory counts of merchandise monthly. 3. Daily work for billing. 4. Maintaining the court sheets including event sign-ups, guest registration, and court reservations. 5. Fill in with members on games as needed. 6. Keep records of courts use and guests. 7. Supply towels, cups and ice to members and guests. 8. Stay in direct contact with members through phone calls, emails, and texting. 9. Aid in the food service during team matches and tournaments. 10. Set up ball machine for members. 11. Assist with the coordination of the annual Kid’s Summer Camp Program.

Retail & Pro Shop Facility:

1. Ring up sales and guest charges. 2. Regularly change displays. 3. Restock merchandise when supply is low. 4. Promote and sell pro shop merchandise, assisting customers with their selections. 5. Coordinate and process special merchandise and equipment orders for members. 6. Handle racquet demo system. 7. Make coffee and refill candy station. 8. Ensure Tennis Shop is always clean and dust-free. 9. Keep storage area, kitchen, bathrooms, and fitting rooms tidy.

Administration:

1. On a daily basis, review all charges prior to submission to the Accounting Department, being sure to reconcile lessons, clinics and events to lesson book, court bookings and racquet sports events held for that day. 2. Answer phones in a friendly, upbeat manner; forward calls to the correct area of the Club. 3. Update the Racquet Sports section of the Club website; assist with the daily email blast. 4. Receive in and tag all merchandise to the inventory system.

Performance Standards :

1. Must comply with all rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and/or established by the Board of Governors. 2. Must adhere to the Club’s Code of Ethics. 3. Must be polite and courteous when dealing with members, guests, and employees. 4. Must adhere to policies and procedures of the Clubs’ ongoing safety program. 5. Must work cooperatively with co-workers and facilitate same. 6. Must be able to communicate well with others. 7. Must be able to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines. 8. Must follow requests of supervisors without question unless in conflict with club policies or legal regulations. 9. Must present a neat appearance, possess a pleasant personality, and wear professional attire. 10. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead, push, pull, and lift ten (10) pounds.

Requirements:
Formal Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

Good communication skills, excellent customer service skills, personable and outgoing.

Knowledge:

Inventory Control/Merchandise Ordering. Must be computer proficient.

Experience:

Retail sales and/or prior pro shop experience preferred.

Machines/Equipment/Tools used:

1. All office equipment and computer including Excel and Word software. 2. NorthStar Software, Windows format, or other Club software as applicable. 3. Serv-Ace ball machine.

Working Conditions:

1. Requires mostly indoor and some outdoor work. 2. Flexible days/hours; weekends/holidays/evenings may be required during season. Schedule can be 6 days per week October – May; 5 days per week June – September; or as necessary during Club peak periods. 3. Must notify Director of Racquet Sports in the event of absence.
