Fort Myers, FL Job Details Part-time $14 – $15 an hour 12 hours ago Qualifications Basic math English High school diploma or GED Driver’s License POS Retail math Phone etiquette Entry level Full Job Description We are a gated community located in Fort Myers, FL; the part-time position of the Pro Shop Attendant reports directly to the Head Golf Professional and is responsible for receiving monies for green fees, carts, shop sales, and is also responsible for keeping the working area in a neat and orderly manner. Instructions to the Pro Shop Attendant are generally specific; however, there are times that the employee must exercise independent judgment to handle situations which might arise in the Pro Shop.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Greets customers in a pleasant and courteous manner. Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession. Operates a computerized cash register system and issues a receipt for each transaction. Provides golf course information to members (i.e., tee times, upcoming events prices, policies, etc.). Takes tee time requests and makes adjustments on existing tee times. Assists with the cleanliness of the Pro Shop area on a daily basis. Answers telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner. Safely operates a golf cart in the performance of duties. Accounts for collection of green and cart fees by completing daily reports. Assists in directing all play on the golf course. Assists Head Golf Professional with tasks and assignments as directed. Ability to use/learn Point-of-Sale System and Tee Time System. Communicates with other courses within our reciprocal program in writing, email, and by telephone. Makes membership gift cards and bag tags with provided equipment. Assists with merchandise within the Pro Shop, putting out inventory as instructed, folding, arranging, and keeping inventory neat and in place.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; some golf experience is preferred. Must be able to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession. Knowledge or experience and/or ability to use business telephone manners and techniques. Accurately communicates information to assigned supervisor in a timely and useful manner. Must be able to meet and deal effectively with the members; pleasing personality required. Exercise independent judgment within the limits of the position. Must possess the ability to be both firm and tactful in enforcing golf facility policies and must have good interpersonal skills and must display patience and diplomacy when dealing with owners and others.

PHYSICAL / EMOTIONAL DEMANDS

Work is performed typically standing; however, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds is required on an intermittent basis.
