Golf Course Advisor – Part Time – Port St. Lucie, FL We are currently hiring for a Course Advisor who is responsible for assuring that customers have an enjoyable round of golf that all groups do their best to keep pace with others, that all players observe good golf manners in the interest of a good time for everyone. Represent the PGA of America in the utmost professional manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Obtain exact tee time of each golf group and car number to check pace of play for all groups on a continuous and ongoing basis throughout their entire round. Tour course in golf car; maintain flow of golf by assisting players where necessary. Course advisors will communicate and enforce the pace of play policy as defined by PGA Golf Club pace of play policy and standard operating procedures. Ensure that everyone on the course has checked in with the golf shop and has a set of clubs that all golf cars are operated by licensed drivers, and abide by the current golf car restrictions. Be visible when roaming the course, welcoming each group and speaking to them at least one other time. Maintain frequent contact with golf shop and tee starter by radio or in person to discuss pace of play and other factors affecting smooth daily operations. Enforce all golf course rules and regulations. Perform maintenance or other tasks as needed i.e. raking bunkers, finding lost clubs, having first aid kits for blisters, bee stings, moving tee markers, etc., and alerts the golf professional on duty of all situations on the golf course that are out of standard. Keep the golf course free of all trash and cleaning signage. Shuttle players to and from the Practice Facility/and or parking area. Assist with tournament operations by leading out carts in shotguns, delivering proximity markers, and other organizational tasks as assigned by the golf professional staff. Return and maintain all daily paperwork as directed in a professional and complete manner. Attend monthly department meetings, and/or in-service training, educational seminars as assigned. Demonstrate safety on the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior customer relations/service experience is a plus.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write. simple sentences. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COLLABORATION AND TEAM WORK

Works harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate.
