Lucie, FL We are currently hiring for a part-time Starter who will be responsible for ensuring members and guests are properly checked in and for greeting members and guests courteously. The greeting always starts with approved language as presented in the Starter Standard Verbiage. Assist in the smooth daily operation of their assigned tee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Check the tablet for all members and guests and confirm payment and tee time. Any member or guest that has not paid will be processed by the Starter on the first tee. Maintain accurate record of daily tee sheet for their assigned course, including golf cars numbers, actual starting time, and the number of players in each group. Notify supervisors of all special circumstances. Communicate consistently and thoroughly with the Golf Professional on Duty and/or with Course Advisors on any/all topics that impact daily operations (including but not limited to late arrivals on the tee, no shows, inaccurate charges, and breach of policy). Greet all members and guests to the Club. Follow standard procedures and verbiage as described in the Starter Standard Operating Procedures. Educate and explain daily course conditions, practice areas, rules, and procedures, i.e., location of the practice facility, cart path restrictions (cart path only, 1 entry/1exit, etc.) and pin placement. Keep the Starter podium clean and stocked with scorecards, tees, and pencils. Remove any practice balls off-putting green throughout the day. Keep #1 tee clean (pick up trash and debris, wipe signs, and podiums).

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior customer relations/service experience is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to use an iPAD with Club Essentials point of sale system on it to verify payment of members and quests. Use of SQUARE credit card reader to secure credit card payment.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple sentences. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
