- Statesboro, GA Department Information Eagle Dining Services Job Summary The Student Assistant will support Gus Mart 2 as a Student Team Member on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025.
As a Student Team Member at GUS Mart 2, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive customer experience in our fast-paced convenience store. This position requires excellent customer service skills, teamwork, and attention to detail. You will assist in daily store operations, including stocking, cashiering, and maintaining store cleanliness. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers, providing friendly and efficient service.
Cashiering:
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash and card payments.
Stocking & Inventory:
Restock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed, ensuring proper rotation of products.
Store Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including checkout areas, storage rooms, and product displays.
Compliance:
Follow all safety, sanitation, and food-handling guidelines.
Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about store products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with fellow team members and management to maintain smooth daily operations. Shift Specifics Minimum 15 hours, up to 25 hours per week

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Strong communication and customer service skills.
Previous retail, food service, or cashier experience
