Outside Sales Associate (Open)

Location:

Lake Charles, LA (RDA) – Welding equipment rental How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Under the direction of the District Manager, the incumbent willdevelop rentals and sales of welding equipment, power generationand weld automation in the assigned region by following salesleads, making presentations, preparing quotations, maintaining allrequired literature and providing customer follow-ups. Theincumbent will also assess customer needs and recommend appropriatesolutions. Some overnight travel is required. Maintains a safe working environment by followingAirgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines. Develops and increases the end user customer base by effectivecommunication, assessment of needs and recommendations ofsolutions. Performs onsite equipment demonstrations. Makes application recommendations of welding and positioningequipment. Develops long-term supply relationships through contractsand/or agreements. Works as part of a team in providing customersolutions. Meets or exceeds rental and sales goals specified in the marketarea. Represents the company at trade association meetings and TradeShows to promote products. Compiles lists of prospective customers for sales leads basedon information from newspapers, business directories, tradejournals and/or other sources. Maintains accurate and timely submission of sales call reportsand expenses. Provides customer follow-up. Provides back-up coverage at the branch location duringvacations and other employee shortages. Travel within designated territory up to 25-50% of the time,including some overnight travel. Performs other related duties as required. ________________________ Are you a MATCH?

Experience Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or awelding equipment sales or rental environment (ideallyconstruction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors) anasset. Working knowledge of positioning equipment, weldingapplications and equipment an asset. Skills and Abilities Attention to detail and solid organizational skills. Ability to effectively build relationships with customers andco-workers. Ability to develop and execute market/business plans Must have excellent technical knowledge as well as stronginterpersonal and management skills. Proven ability to develop new accounts and new businessopportunities. Requires high-quality presentation and negotiatingskills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to set goals and motivate self and others to achieveannual sales objectives Ability to multi-task and work independently with littlesupervision. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to make critical decisions while following companyprocedures. Ability to act proactively or find a solution with work-relatedproblems. Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varyingexceptions. Ability to work with a wide variety of people with differentpersonalities and backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office. Communicates with clarity, verbally in one on one or groupsituations, and over the telephone. Communicates well in writing by composing cleardocuments.
