Job Title:
Retail Sales Associate (Fragrance Consultant) Tijon is a niche experience-based perfumery specializing in fine handcrafted fragrances made with the highest quality ingredients. Our fragrance lab offers guests a lab style experience with the opportunity to create a custom perfume or cologne from over 300 vetted oils. The experience includes bottling and naming of the fragrance, receiving a certificate with the formula of their personalized scent that can be used to reorder in the future. You will lead these perfume-creation workshops and ensure an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong organizational and customer service skills to maintain a high standard of luxury and engagement. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented with a passion for hospitality, retail, and creative experiences. Experience with perfume is not necessary as we will train you.
PAY:
Starting pay is $15 per hour plus tips. Tips typically add an additional $6 per hour. Raises are generously applied upon achievement of performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generally, you will lead guests through the perfume creation process, explaining the different fragrance families and helping them select and blend scents to craft a custom perfume. Additionally, you will provide expert advice on fragrance notes and combinations, ensuring that each guest leaves with a scent they love. Provide the highest-level service with each customer who visits Tijon, whether in a quick tour of the space OR in a scheduled class – being attentive, knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. Each visitor should leave with a positive and memorable experience. Assist with administering perfume making classes, to include bottling perfume for each customer at the close of each class. Monitor and respond to emails, as well as incoming phone calls/messages.
Assist in the following:
training new employees, order/reorder and track inventory and supplies for the shop, marketing and advertising within the community as directed by the manager. Anticipate and fulfill customer questions and needs with option-oriented, flexible solutions in a courteous and professional manner. Take reservations by computer, telephone, and in person. Establish relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and continued business. Learn the product and perfume making process, become the resource and expert for each customer. Memorize class scripts. Assist with various inventory-related tasks, if needed. Maintain complete and accurate records, according to company systems and standards. Assist with general upkeep of the retail shop. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers. Know your environment – neighboring stores, residents, local advertising opportunities, etc. – and be a champion of the community by identifying and offering opportunities to spotlight/partner with local retailers.

Experience in a customer-facing role, especially in a luxury or hospitality setting, is preferred.
