Specific responsibilities to the Grocery Team Member position includebut are not limited to: I. Customer Service Work effectively withcustomers, vendors and team members in a high volume setting and providean outstanding ability to listen and communicate efficiently Practices atotal store approach to customer service, responds promptly to customerservice questions and needs; appropriately utilizes communicationmethods (walkie, phone, etc.) when answer is unknown or to communicatewith other Team Members Is always friendly, greets and acknowledgescustomers with a welcoming attitude Is educated about BFC products, theBFC Food Policy, and is familiar with the store layout; providingcustomers with direction of where to locate specific items, utilizescommunication methods (walkie, phone, etc.) when the answer is unknown;offers suggestions for product substitutions when stock is low or outActively listens to customer complaints, seeking to understandproblem/concern/complaint; brings issues to supervisors, management andPersons in Charge as needed Educate customers in product selection andnutritional information Responds to radio calls for carryout, buyingclub assistance, as well as inquiries about department products Receivesand answers telephone calls, directs the call to the appropriate contactII.

Merchandising / Product

Production Maintain attractive, fullystocked and rotated (and faced, where applicable) sections Ensure thatshelves and displays are regularly replenished and rotated according tocurrent pars and inventory; follows the first-in-first-out (FIFO)rotation procedure and departmental & store standards of displayproduction and maintenance Help set up and maintain seasonal displaysCheck for out-of-dates and record shrink Make sure certain products arecorrectly signed with display labels, tags, allergenics, & special dietslabeling Work with department manager, Scan Coordinator and IT SystemsSupervisor to ensure accurate, up-to-date prices are reflected on alltags and signage Ensure department display areas are maintained in aclean, orderly condition meeting BFC standards Stocks displays fullywithout overcrowding; faces items on shelves maintaining integrity ofall sets Complies with Co-op standards of operation and productionprocedures, as well as those of all applicable regulatory agencies, andensures on a daily basis that products are stocked and displayed inaccordance with Co-op standards III. Department Maintenance Keepdisplays, department areas, and workstations are clean and orderlycondition Advise PICs of equipment repair or replacement needs; ifbroken equipment will affect business operations, communicate this tothe store so they can effectively inform customers Follows theestablished cleaning procedures are followed; participate in thecleaning schedule during downtime Follows safety procedure in regards tospills, broken glass and broken equipment Follows department checklistdepending on assigned shift Participate in inventory counts Skills &Qualifications Good communication and listening skills Excellentcustomer service skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitaskingenvironment with a professional and friendly attitude Ability to speak,read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in theworkplace Ability to read and interpret documents like trainingmaterials, spreadsheets, reports and operating instructions Ability towork independently and as part of a team Comfortable working withcomputers (Preferred) 1+ years of retail experience (Preferred) In depthknowledge of grocery, supplement, and organic food/product information(Preferred) High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
