Job Description

Grocery Team Member 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 34 Bridge Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230 Practices a total store approach to customer service, responds promptly to customer service needs in all departments. Maintains a positive, empathetic, respectful and professional attitude towards customers. Is always friendly, greets and acknowledges customers

  • makes eye contact and smiles. Keeps a clean, neat appearance, is identifiable and recognizable, wears a nametag and apron. Anticipates and determines customer needs
  • is proactive in engaging with them. Is educated about BCM product mix and knows store layout. Walks customers to product locations or to get answers to questions. Listens and learns answers. Shares products with customers
  • opens items up and offers samples.

Responds promptly to storewide calls for service including bagging groceries, helping customers with carry outs. Resolves customer issues with ease and grace, bringing issues to supervisors and Persons in Charge as needed. Speedy Production Works in a safe manner following all established safety practices and attends all required safety trainings. Consistently meets store and department production goals. Works quickly and efficiently meeting specific production metrics per department

  • Case per Hour, In Stock Ratio, Rings Per Hour, etc.

Follows all store and department systems, SOP’s and guidelines. Consistently stays busy during slower periods of time and is proactive in finding work to do. Consistently keeps all displays fully stocked, fronted, faced and properly signed. Stocks displays fully without overcrowding; faces items on shelves maintaining integrity of all sets. Follows First in First Out rule (FIFO). Rotate older stock to front, slot new stock in back. Checks for damage, short dates and unacceptable quality, follows established Inventory Management Procedures. Labels items accurately with price tags or signs. Reports price discrepancies to supervisors. Maintains production lists following established department procedure. Maintains a well-organized, clean work space including desks, back stock areas, carts and receiving area. Stay productive while conversing with other staff members

  • front/face/clean/tidy and stay alert for customer needs. Keeps shelves, coolers, bins and other equipment in clean, orderly condition. Picks up after yourself
  • removes trash promptly, sweeps and mops floor as needed.

Stores department equipment in designated areas, cleaning after each use. Uses equipment safely and only in the manner in which they are intended to be used. Adheres to and participates in established department cleaning schedule. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisors or team leaders.
