Job Description
SHELBURNE FALLS
Store Clerk To handle the cash sale of goods to membersand the general public in a friendly, efficient and accurate manner. Toensure that displays, coolers and shelves are clean, neat and fullystocked according to established procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
CASHIERING
Be able to perform store opening and closing procedures.
Maintain checkout area in clean, orderly condition: show initiative inensuring an orderly and clean store; bring problems to the attention ofthe manager on duty. Check out customer purchases efficiently andaccurately following established procedures. Be knowledgeable about thesystem of membership in order to answer customer questions and sign upnew members. Be able to follow pricing and stocking guidelines as statedalways striving for accuracy. Follow guidelines established to ensureassigned areas are fully stocked at the expected rate. Ensure deliveriesare received promptly and accurately and all products and invoices arerouted to the appropriate areas.
CUSTOMER SERVICE & TEAM WORK
Respondpromptly to calls for assistance with customer needs. Greet customersand assist them with questions and special orders in a prompt andfriendly manner Be familiar with products sold in the store- wherelocated and where to find delivery schedules and information on specialordering. Follow store policies about returned merchandise in order torespond clearly and consistently. Participate in telephone answering.
Attend all staff meetings. Be generous in agreeing to switch/ substitutefor a colleague. Be vigilant and pro active about store maintenance (eg.attend to spills immediately) Maintain honest, direct and respectfulcommunications with co-workers and managers and take initiative inproblem solving.
MAINTENANCE
Maintain receiving, storage and displayareas in clean, orderly and efficient condition Take out trash and breakdown boxes regularly. Be alert to condition of customer areas; sweep,mop, clean up spills as needed. Participate in regular and thoroughcleanings of all work and display areas.

Exceptional customer service skills. Manual/ numerical dexterity.
Facility with numbers and basic calculator procedures. Ability to standfor long periods, lift 50 pounds and repeatedly climb stairs. Detailoriented and commitment to accuracy and productivity. Demonstratedsuccess as a team player and experience in serving the public Ability tohandle multiple time demands.
