We seek a Territory Sales Associate (Seasonal) for our Cape Cod territory, responsible for selling our bakery goods, both branded and Private Label, to customers serviced throughout their area, prioritizing sales growth and working to build the market share of our most profitable branded labels. Territory includes the following cities/towns on
Cape Cod:
Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, Hyannis, Harwich Must be willing to work rotating weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKS
Develops/maintains goodwill with customers on behalf of Gold Medal. Communicates regularly with Gold Medal company employees and specific and limited personnel of assigned stores (i.e. Bread Clerks, Back-Up Clerks, Grocery, In-Store Bakery & Deli Department Management) with regard to store status, and displays. Promotes our products through customer interactions and hand selling. Verifies rotation and coding policies are adhered to by stores serviced. Ensures proper merchandising standards are achieved (planogram adhered to, Unit Tags, Sale signs, POP materials, displays). Confirms bread aisle maintenance and work with stores serviced to ensure initial loads are put up by 10 AM and afternoon pull-ups maintained at all stores serviced. Follows store visit schedules and sales call duration guidelines to ensure adequate service is provided throughout area. Does not change job procedures without authorization from Supervisor. Performs all other related assignments and training of other employees as needed. Always operates according to company core values of caring, commitment, and integrity. Every employee is responsible for ensuring the highest degree of food safety and producing a quality product by following the standard operating procedures and adhering to the quality control standards. Anything which negatively affects or potentially affects the quality of the product (including damaged or inferior ingredients and produced product) must immediately be resolved by the employee or brought to the attention of a Supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Preparation and Training A high school (college preferred) level of knowledge of several subjects is required. A valid state of residence driver’s license and excellent driving record is required. Work Experience Requires good personality traits for dealing with other people. Analytical Ability No analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex in dealing with people. Independent Judgment And Action Independent judgment is often required when dealing with store personnel and consumers. Some guidance is received from supervisor and/or from established procedures or instructions. Errors could result in moderate to significant cost in time, money, product and customer goodwill. Contact With Others Internal – Daily communication with supervisor. External – Daily contact with consumers and customers (management and non-management). Routine matters discussed involving merchandising. Work of Others – Not responsible for the work of others.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be capable of exerting up to 34 foot pounds of initial force to move a rack. Must be able to take bread and rolls and place/reorganize them onto shelves. Mental and visual ability is required to identify various products, codes, labels, and prices, and to read sales orders and shipping documents. Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be capable of reaching up to six (6) feet to handle stacks of bakery products. Tasks require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking and hearing. Work requires the ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Must be capable of understanding simple instructions and reading notices, work schedules, work orders and invoices. Memory skills for recall of product prices, traits, codes, etc. Must be able to keep a running count of one item when sorting incoming product or taking inventory.
