DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Observe and follow all company policies and establishedprocedures.
  • Clean Service Desk/Kiosk.
  • Maintain a neat,well-groomed personal appearance at all times and follow companypersonal appearance policy.
  • Assist in special projects and performother functions as assigned by supervision.
  • Work within ourcompany’s management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintainproductivity.
  • Support and comply with all company’s safetystandards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenancework needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect.
  • Performaccurate price check functions.
  • Control excessive use of storesupplies, such as ribbons, receipt tape, bags and cleaningmaterials.
  • Record on designated forms any price discrepanciesand/or any “not on file” items that are encountered on electronicpoint-of -sale terminal, request price checks promptly on any suchitems according to company policy.
  • Verify all customer IDspresented and observe store policies pertaining to the acceptanceof checks and the sale of tobacco/alcoholic beverages.
  • Adhere tocompany policy pertaining to excessive cash in registers andrequest cash pickup in accordance with company policy.
  • Observesecurity standards by staying alert and being aware of customers’actions and behavior. Report to manager or security any abnormalbehavior.
  • Process all of the various types of transactionsaccepted by the store including but not necessarily limited tocash, checks, authorized Accounts Receivable sales, ElectronicPayments, WIC, coupons, gift cards, bottle credits, refunds,lottery, Western Union etc.

in strict accordance with establishedcompany policies and procedures including full compliance with anylegal requirements or regulations governing same.

  • Secure registerat all times when leaving it unattended; protect company assets atall times.
  • Use and maintain equipment in good working order andreport problems or malfunctions immediately.
  • Maintain generalhousekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with storepolicy and state and local health regulations on a regular, ongoingbasis.
  • Be knowledgeable in and able to recognize or differentiatebetween all of the various types of produce merchandise carried inthe store including differences between varieties of similarclasses of products (e.g., apples, lettuces, etc.).
  • Frequently,perform cashier and/service associate functions.
  • Perform otherduties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must meetminimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks andtechnical requirements of the job.

PREREQUISUTE TRAINING
  • Completed Cashier/Service Associate training packet Physical Requirements
  • Stand 100% of the time with occasional walking short distances.
  • Use hands to frequently/continuously handle currency (paper andcoin) as well as operate a variety of equipment such as cashregister, lottery machine, scanner, computer, and calculator.
  • Bendand lift products weighing up to 15 pounds continuously, 25 poundsfrequently, and 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Push or pull up to 75pounds on occasion.
  • Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level;occasionally above shoulder or below waist level.
  • Meet establishedvolume activity standards for the position.
  • Have sufficient visualacuity to check ID cards, checks, invoices and other writtendocuments.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteousservice and assistance.
  • Provide outstanding, friendly customerservice.
  • Record (scan) the purchases of a customer into the cashregister efficiently and accurately.
  • Collect money in the forms ofcash, checks or electronic funds from customers and tender accuratechange in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Providecustomers and associates with refunds in accordance with standardpractice.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of theposition, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • FollowAnti-Money Laundering guidelines while processing Western Union,Money Orders, Prepaid Cards and Check Cashing.
