Job Description About us:
Nestled along the banks of the Haw River, the Valley Golf Course (formally known as Indian Valley) offers the avid golfer a fair test of their golf game. The 18-hole Ellis Maples par 70 course is owned and operated by the City of Burlington and is available for regular and tournament play. Juniors and seniors are welcome.
What you will do:
Responsible for providing food and beverages to players on the course, in addition to various requests from the Clubhouse that golfers may need during their round. Golfers should receive professional, prompt and friendly service throughout their golf round.
Examples of Duties Professional Appearance:
Maintain a clean and neat uniform at all times.
Daily Inventory Management:
Complete opening and closing inventory tasks; ensure inventory sheets are dated, signed, and submitted with closing paperwork.
Coordination with
Golf Shop:
Check in with the Golf Shop Assistant before leaving the property.
Accurate Sales Tracking:
Maintain an up-to-date inventory sheet reflecting daily sales.
Product Management:
Monitor expiration dates on food and beverages; rotate and organize stock; notify management to reorder as needed.
Cart Readiness:
Ensure carts are fully operational before rounds, including checking charge and tire pressure; keep carts clean consistently.
Golf Etiquette Knowledge:
Understand and demonstrate proper golf course etiquette.
Responsible Alcohol Service:
Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with North Carolina law.
Cleanliness and Organization:
Keep beer coolers and snack boxes clean and well-organized.
Holiday Availability:
Be available to work on major holidays.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines.
Customer Check-In Support:
Assist the golf shop with checking in customers.
Qualifications Comprehensive Knowledge:
City policies, rules, and regulations regarding utility billing and maintenance.
Administrative procedures and standard operating practices in modern office operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency and considerable office work experience involving heavy public contact; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Supplemental Information Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work in this class is described as sedentary. An employee must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, lifting, fingering, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Employee regularly operates a variety of machinery and equipment, including telephones, computers, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, and etcetera. Work necessitates visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned in preparing and analyzing figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal viewing and extensive reading. Working conditions include inside environmental conditions.
