Our Receiving Team is integral to ensuring that our customers have access to the best products by efficiently managing stock, pricing, and inventory systems.
ROLE:
As a key member of the Receiving Team, you will be responsible for accurately receiving and accounting for all inventory, managing data entry into our point-of-sale system, setting and adjusting pricing, and ensuring that our product offerings are up-to-date and accurately reflected in our inventory system. Your work will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our stock levels and pricing strategies. For clarification, this is not a warehouse job. We are a locally owned health food store receiving food, supplements, and body care items for sale to customers in a retail space.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately receive and verify all incoming merchandise, ensuring that it matches purchase orders and is recorded correctly in our database. Enter invoices into the ECRS Web Office (Point of Sale) system, ensuring accurate costing, inventory counts, and timely updates. Enter and maintain inventory records for new or changing items. Set and adjust retail pricing based on vendor agreements, promotions, and market trends. Work closely with the Purchasing Team to coordinate promotions and ensure timely and accurate merchandising. Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and other relevant documentation. Communicate effectively with vendors to address errors, discrepancies, and policy adherence. Execute and oversee proper vendor receiving policies, minimizing shrink through accurate data management and handling practices. Understand and adhere to company policies and workplace safety guidelines. Perform all tasks with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and maintaining the integrity of our inventory data. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance inventory management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent preferred; further education in inventory management, retail operations, or related fields is a plus. Strong experience in database management, point-of-sale systems, and inventory control. Strong math skills Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems related to inventory and data management. Familiarity with retail pricing strategies and vendor relationship management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving repetitive hand and arm motions. Capability to work in extreme hot/cold temperature conditions for short durations. Ability to read and interpret invoices, ID cards, and other written documents.
