About Us:

High Country Candles is a beloved retail candle shop located in the picturesque town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Our candles are hand-poured and handmade on-site, creating a unique and high-quality product that our customers love. We are open 7 days a week, typically from 10am to 6pm, with extended hours until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays during the Fall. Plus, Black Friday where we’re open early and late. The Shop is open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. We are seeking a Part-time, Seasonal , retail associate, minimum 2 shifts per week until the end of the year. The possibility exists if successful temporary position could become permanent in Winter. Ideally, you could work 3-4 shifts per week through to December, which will include at least 1 weekend or more shifts. Will also require at least a Friday or Saturday evening shift until 9:30pm. Position is available now as we’re entering our busiest season.

Job Description:

As a Sales Associate at High Country Candles, you’ll be an integral part of our team, committed to providing exceptional customer experience. Your role will involve engaging with customers, collaborating closely with your fellow team members, and embodying our unique sales approach. In addition to sales duties, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the art of candle making. We’re looking for individuals who are eager to grow with us for the long term, with opportunities for advancement and increased responsibilities. Retail experience preferred but not required. Starting at $16 per hour depending upon your retail experience, with the potential for higher compensation for qualified, more experienced candidates. Requirements:

-Ability to work weekdays, weekends and Friday/Saturday evenings. -Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. We have raw candle materials as well as finished product that can be heavy and needs to be lifted, moved around the shop or even to our upstairs storage.
