Background check required, as interacting with minors is part of the job Family-friendly environment Full-time (40 hours per week) Friday evening shift until 11:30 p.m. every week One of Saturday or Sunday shift required Duties include: Sales, Cashiering, Cleaning (including restrooms), Data Entry, Product Packaging, Product Display Design/Organization, Store Organization, Social Media Reliable, all-season transportation required (bus doesn’t run late on Fridays) Minimum of five years of work experience required Driver’s License required.

We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual for this full-time position at our family-friendly tabletop game store. An associate at The Relentless Dragon provides exceptional and efficient customer service to patrons throughout our store. Customers look to associates for information regarding the tabletop gaming industry, including both popular “evergreen” titles and new releases, so staying on top of industry news is important. On-the-clock time is provided for this. Associates must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle occasionally large volumes of customers with patience, and function equally well on both the sales floor and handling non-sales support tasks. Knowledge of and experience with one or more of the following games is a plus, but not required:

Magic:

the Gathering Trading Card Game Pokémon Trading Card Game Some other trading card game or living card game Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or another tabletop roleplaying game Warhammer 40k or Age of Sigmar, BattleTech, or another tabletop miniature game “New style” American board games “Euro” Board Games Some job requirements include, but are not limited to: Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to make change Excellent spoken and written English communication skills The ability to communicate clearly face-to-face and on the phone (both incoming and outgoing phone calls) with customers. This is not an outside sales position. You will not be asked to make unsolicited sales phone calls. Organizational and alphabetizing skills Typing skill Sales associates should expect constant physical activity.

Physical requirements include:

Ability to lift and handle loads of 10 pounds consistently and 50 pounds daily or near daily using appropriate safety techniques, including team lifting Standing stationary and walking around for several minutes at a time while performing duties Ability to move swiftly about the store to assist customers, stock products, and operate a vacuum Ability to repeatedly reach, grasp, lift, carry, push, and pull objects of varying weights, as well as the ability to bend, twist, squat, and kneel to clean, retrieve products, and maintain store displays Fine motor skills and dexterity to manipulate small items Ability to climb ladders and stools Ability to repetitively operate basic small tools and machinery, including barcode scanners The natural or corrected ability to hear clearly and communicate clearly verbally in English, with excellent enunciation. We have a highly experienced Deaf employee you will occasionally be scheduled with, so the ability to sometimes “provide ears” when interfacing with customers is necessary. Sign Language ability is NOT required, as he communicates through voice to text. Sufficient visual acuity, natural or corrected, to both read fine print and see adequately across a 50-foot-wide store Evening shift until 11:30 on Fridays is required One weekend shift is required High school diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation to and from work (some store hours are outside of city bus hours) Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include nights, weekends, and some federal holidays (never Thanksgiving or Christmas). Federal holiday shifts are paid at 1.5x. Ability to multi-task and shift between tasks easily Interfacing with a diverse customer base, including people with a wide range of backgrounds and ages Submission of a PDF cover letter and resume via email – REQUIRED Ability to work well on a team, as well as self-direct as necessary Professional conduct, demeanor, attire, hygiene, and personal appearance Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office-type applications (MS Office, Google Docs/Sheets, etc.) An excellent knowledge of social media Some Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greeting and welcoming every customer warmly and with enthusiasm Learning and understanding customer needs Explaining product features and benefits in relation to the customers’ needs by providing in-depth product knowledge Making product recommendations to customers, and new product recommendations to management Interacting with customers in a friendly, attentive, and respectful manner Contributing to a positive work environment with respectful, ethical behavior and honest communication, demonstrating professionalism at all times Supporting sales efforts and initiatives across all business channels Maintaining awareness of all current promotions Preparing incoming product for the sales floor Merchandising product following company guidelines and visual standards Researching product pricing Making pre-owned product purchases from the public Maintaining store maintenance and cleanliness standards, including restroom cleaning and trash removal to outside dumpster Completing tasks as directed by store management in a timely manner Complying with company policies and procedures Occasional requirements may include but are not limited to: Small furniture assembly or relocation Convention staffing Takeout food retrieval
