Reports to: ReStore Manager & Assistant ManagerGENERAL The role of the ReStore Associate is to assist with generaloperations of the ReStore, servicing the needs of both shoppers,donors, and volunteers. The ReStore Associate assists customerswith sales and requests for information, assists in the moving andorganizing of ReStore merchandise, processes and organizesdonations, thanking donors for their support, and works closelywith our volunteers. As an integral part of our team, this positionhas a significant impact on the success of our ReStores and ourability to raise funds and awareness in support of Habitat’smission. This position must be able to drive the ReStore donationbox trucks, load and unload merchandise, while being ambassadors ofthe Habitat mission to donors and customers alike. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Enthusiasm for the mission and vision of Greater Rochester Habitatfor Humanity.
  • Experience in retail, customer service, ornon-profit work preferred.
  • Must possess a customer servicemindset
  • Experience working with volunteers a plus.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and a team player.
  • Good problem-solvingskills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Valid New YorkState Driver’s License and insurable driving record (CDL notrequired).
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting,walking, and/or standing for extended periods.
  • Climbing, bending,and kneeling.
  • Regularly moving up to 50 pounds individually, andheavier items with assistance.
Work Environment:
  • Works in retailstore and warehouse environment, as well as outdoors and on theroad (driving), during inclement weather, heat, and humidity.

Noiselevels will be loud at times.

Education:
  • High school diploma orequivalent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provideexceptional customer service to shoppers and donors, fostering awelcoming atmosphere.
  • Answer customer questions in person, byphone, and via email, promptly and courteously.
  • Receive, price,and process donated items.
  • Maintain inventory on the sales floorand ensure an inviting shopping experience.
  • Support cash registeroperations as needed.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with adiverse group of volunteers, providing leadership and encouragingteamwork and camaraderie.
  • Assist with housekeeping andmaintenance of the store and warehouse.
  • Help maintain a safestore environment. Demonstrate safe practices and provide safetyguidance to volunteers as needed (especially when moving bulky orheavy items).
  • As a
ReStore Donation Driver:
  • Drive safely,demonstrating exemplary driving skills and courtesy to others.
  • Thank all donors for their support and offer information on howtheir contributions impact Habitat’s mission and work in the localcommunity.
  • Complete donation paperwork and other documentation asrequired.
  • Screen donations and politely decline items that do notmeet our criteria.
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unloaddonations. Additional Duties
  • Participate in fundraising andevents.
  • Act as an ambassador to promote the mission and values ofHabitat for Humanity.
  • Assist with maintaining building safety andaccessibility, including sidewalk snow removal.
