Sales Associate 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Middletown, NY 10940 Michael’s Appliance Center, established in 1945, has been proudly serving the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas with top-of-the-line appliance sales and service for over 80 years. We are currently seeking an energetic Sales Associate to join our busy sales floor. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small business that values delivering an excellent customer experience from start to finish.

What You Will Do:

As a Sales Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service, engage with clients, and help them select appliances that best suit their needs. You’ll also play a crucial role in ensuring that all customer interactions, including phone calls and emails, are accurately documented in our customer relationship management software (CRM). This includes noting key details like customer preferences, specifications, follow-up information, and any concerns to ensure a seamless experience for both clients and our sales team. You will build lasting relationships with customers while continually learning about new products and industry trends. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a desire for career growth in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers in a welcoming manner. Assist customers in selecting appliances and close sales (in-person and via phone). Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and industry trends. Meet or exceed monthly sales goals. Use CRM software to accurately log important details from customer phone calls, emails, and in-store interactions, ensuring all relevant information is recorded for future reference and follow-up. Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Occasionally interact with designers, builders, and architects to review specifications, delivery dates, etc.

Competencies:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive, engaged attitude and professional demeanor. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Professional appearance and demeanor. 1-2 years of customer service experience. Previous sales experience is a plus, but not required (any industry). Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking around the store. Frequent use of computers, handheld electronic equipment, and cash registers.
