About Knockdown Center Knockdown Center is an art, performance, and live music venue featuring weekly diverse programming and produces / hosts cultural events and exhibitions in our 50,000 square-foot building. Primary Purpose of Role We are currently recruiting for a Guest Services Representative to join our team. You will have a wide range of duties, as the department involves ticket scanners, coat check, box office and merch sellers. Working collaboratively with your peers, you will play a crucial role in the execution of events, delighting our guests. The Role As a Guest Services Representative, your role will consist of the following: Coat Check / Locker Liaison Greet guests and educate them on the locker rental process. Troubleshoot issues related to locker issuance and functionality. Accept locker payments. Check guests’ coats and bags. Issue coat check tickets and keep track of all items checked in. Retrieve coats and bags for guests upon departure. Safely store all checked items and ensure that they are returned to their rightful owners. Ticket Scanning Scan tickets at the entrance to the venue. Verify that tickets are valid and have not been previously scanned. Admit guests to the venue. Troubleshoot any ticket scanning issues. Box Office Sell tickets to shows and other events. Answer questions about upcoming events and ticket availability. Process payments and issue tickets. Provide excellent customer service to ticket buyers. In addition to these specific responsibilities, Guest Services Representatives are also expected to provide excellent customer service to all guests. This means being friendly, helpful, and informative. It also means being able to resolve any problems or concerns that guests may have. Requirements Candidates must meet all of the following required criteria: Professional approach to work. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. Confidence and ability to deal with difficult situations (including those involving conflict) is essential. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. The ability to stand for long periods of time. Taking pride in your appearance as well as representing the Knockdown Center at all times. Flexibility and willingness/availability to work at short notice (days, nights, evenings, overnight and weekends). Due to the nature of the role, must be available nights and weekends!
