9-5 pm Due to the continued growth of our organization and HFHGCC’s commitment to providing safe and affordable housing in Centre County, the ReStore is currently seeking dedicated staff members to join our team.

Multiple positions are currently available:

Full time or part-time associate – 10-40 / hours per week.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The ReStore Associate position is responsible for assisting customers and providing the ultimate in customer service, serving as ambassadors for Habitat. They are the first and last smiling faces customers see as they enter and leave the store. They are friendly and energetic. They must represent Habitat favorably within the community, develop and maintain good relationships with customers, donors, volunteers and partners. This position requires moderate supervision and has no supervisory responsibility.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Primary role is to serve as a cashier to accurately ring up purchases, issuing receipts; hold tags; sold tags as needed. Opening and closing procedures for the cash register. Welcome customers / donors as they enter the ReStore.

Screen donations for acceptability:

receiving, sorting and processing donations Processing of materials-including cleaning and pricing, stocking product, arranging merchandise aesthetically. Loading and unloading merchandise routinely from customer/donor vehicles, warehouse and box trucks Assisting customers by answering questions and enhancing their shopping experience. Answer incoming phone calls. Help maintain cleanliness and safety of the sales floor and cashier work areas. Support customer needs utilizing store leadership support as neccesary Work with and utilize volunteer support

OTHER DUTIES

Address potential hazards to staff, customers or donors in an expedient manner. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Handling cash, basic math, counting skills, calculator use Must have knowledge of basic computer skills. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED Successful employees will have problem solving and analytical ability to utilize time management and space management to juggle an ever changing environment. Communication skills and interpersonal skills are important for dealing with customers as well as fellow staff members and volunteers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand / walk on concrete surface for long periods Ability to work in a warehouse setting subject to heat, cold, and dust Ability to lift 30-50 lbs
