Non-Exempt:
$17.50 per hour; based on applicable skills & experience. Flexible schedule with the ability to work morning, day or evening shift. SUMMARY The Design Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers with product selection and design, organizing merchandise displays, and ensuring a visually appealing and inviting shopping environment. This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service by actively engaging with shoppers, answering their questions, and offering product recommendations.

- Greet customers with a kind and friendly attitude as they enter the store.
- Assist clients in finding and selecting products that fit their needs by interpreting their needs into visual presentation.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge of furniture, merchandise, and store promotions in order to provide accurate information to customers.
- Recommend decorating insights, tips, and inspiration to help clients transform their home into personalized sanctuaries.
- Create and present to clients a product sample, mood boards and presentations.
- Display a comprehensive and well-versed knowledge of our products and vendors.
- Manage multiple customer projects through the entire design process while demonstrating a high level of accuracy.
- Close sales efficiently while building a strong relationship with our customers to ensure referrals of business.
- Check and maintain correct SKUs and hang tags for all items on the floor and in backstock.
- Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices.
- Actively lead and participate in the daily maintenance and design of the stores’ showroom and visual presentation.
- Arrange merchandise displays to create visually appealing areas within the store.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop attractive window displays and in-store promotions.
- Replenish merchandise and organize stock in an efficient and visually appealing manner.
- Ensure that the store is clean and well-presented at all times.
- Utilize point-of-sale systems to process customer transactions and handle cash and credit card payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, including a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and staff.
- Expertise in layout, color, materials and fabrics, and custom furniture.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage with customers.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Must possess a creative flair, eye for design, and an understanding of design principles.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to commute daily to our store-front location on Hilton Head Island
- Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Retail or Design:
3 years (Required).
- High School Graduate – OR – A Bachelor’s degree in Design, or related field, and/or
- Any appropriate and effective combination of any of the above.
- Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs is preferred.

- Able to frequently move up to 30 pounds, occasionally move up to 125 pounds.
