Retail Customer Service Vermont’s Own Gifts and Goods 64 Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753 About us Vermont’s Own Gifts and Goods is a small business in Middlebury, VT. We are professional, agile, customer-centric and our goal is to strengthen Vermont’s local economy and improve Vermonters’ financial security by selling products made in Vermont.. The Retail Customer Service position’s main responsibilities are to take care of customers, learn about products and makers, handle inventory shipments and counts, ship packages, and maintain a neat and tidy shop. Candidates must be able to work by themselves, be a self-starter, and feel comfortable making decisions alone.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Open & Close Shop:
Counting down cash drawer Unlocking and locking store Daily opening and closing tasks
Customer Service:
Greet all customers in a friendly, welcoming way Answer questions with an eager attitude Go above and beyond to meet customer needs Check out customers and process payments Package gift baskets
Product Knowledge:
Learn about products, maple syrup production, and producer stories
Inventory:
Receive inventory shipments in point of sale system Unpack, prepare, and shelve received product Complete inventory counts as needed
Shipping:
Process online orders through Shopify Pack products for shipment
Shop Upkeep:
Tidy shop and products to maintain a neat and clean shop Restock and rearrange products to create visually appealing displays
Qualifications & Skills :
Ability to connect with customers and engage them in conversation Commitment to customer service excellence Strong computer skills and ability to learn new programs

Schedule & Pay :
Part Time:
3 full days (10-5), must be available Tuesdays and at least one weekend day Exact schedule
TBD Starting Pay:
$16 to $18 per hour, depending on experience and performance
