Job Description
Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Department Manager Global Fire Protection 211 Palmer Rd, Madison, AL 35758 The Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Department Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations related to the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of fire extinguishers and related life safety equipment. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and standards, manages team performance, and drives department growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the fire extinguisher/suppression department, ensuring timely and compliant service delivery. Supervise, train, and support technicians performing inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations. Monitor and ensure compliance with NFPA standards, state regulations, and company policies. Coordinate scheduling of technicians, service calls, inspections, and emergency requests. Maintain accurate records of inspections, service reports, and inventory. Oversee inventory of extinguishers, parts, and related equipment; manage orders as needed. Build and maintain relationships with customers, providing excellent service and addressing concerns promptly. Assist with budgeting, departmental goals, and reporting to senior management. Identify opportunities for department growth and process improvements. Uploading & submitting paperwork throughout various portals
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in fire extinguisher/kitchen suppression services, including inspection and maintenance preferred but not required Strong knowledge of NFPA 10 and applicable fire codes Prior leadership or supervisory experience desired Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) Ability to climb ladders and work in various indoor/outdoor environments
