Job Summary:

Manage maintenance shop, parts and employees that service and repair vehicles involved in the manufacturing and delivery of products while ensuring safe and compliant work practices

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Supervise mechanics through mentoring, instruction and discipline Trains employees on equipment and procedures Review applicants for reports, interview, setup pre-employment tests and other parts of hiring process Stay current on new technology in maintenance and repair of vehicles Maintain adequate inventory of parts and supplies Generate information and coordinates employee meetings Meets with and disciplines employees as needed Must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a mechanic Maintain required files Operate necessary office equipment to perform duties Conduct Monthly safety meeting Work with Maintenance Manager on scheduling of PM’s and inspections Perform all duties in a safe manner, being responsible for the safety of yourself and the employees around you Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the company Qualifications and skills required: High School diploma or equivalent Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker Endorsement Maintenance Certificates, Brakes and Annual Inspection Welding Skills Cutting Skills Knowledge of hydraulic equipment Electrical skills Knowledge of lubricants Diesel vehicle repair experience Mechanical knowledge Trouble shooting skills Some supervisory experience in maintenance of vehicles
